iXcampus has been designated as a Maison du Quantique
October 15th, 2024
As part of the National Quantum Strategy (SNQ), led by the General Secretariat for Investment, GENCI, CEA and Inria, France is taking a new step to accelerate the development of hybrid quantum computing and strengthen its ecosystem.
GENCI and CEA have just announced the selection of five Maisons du Quantique across the country. These flagship sites will host training and outreach events, as well as provide space for researchers-in-residence and quantum startups. They will also build on regional and national initiatives such as the Pack Quantique to foster concrete proof-of-concept projects involving end-users (industry and academia), startups, and quantum experts.
Among the selected projects, the Maison du Quantique Île-de-France brings together a wide network of academic, industrial, and territorial players around CEA-LIST (lead), Le Lab Quantique, TERATEC, Systematic Paris-Region, as well as regional research ecosystems (PCQT, Quantum-Saclay, QuanTiP, Sorbonne University)… and iXcampus, which is emerging as one of the key hosting hubs of this initiative.
Already deeply engaged with Institut d’Optique Graduate School and the University of Sherbrooke in launching the Alain Aspect Chairs, iXcampus reaffirms through this new mission its role as a central hub for French-speaking photonics and quantum innovation.
With this recognition, iXcampus is fully aligned with the national momentum driven by the Quantum Strategy and joins a network of five Maisons du Quantique across France:
- MQA in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (Grenoble),
- MAQUEST in the Grand Est (Strasbourg, Reims, Troyes),
- HYBQUANT in Nouvelle Aquitaine (Bordeaux),
- MQO in Occitanie (Toulouse, Montpellier),
- and the Maison du Quantique Île-de-France, for which iXcampus is a key site.
By becoming one of the flagship locations of the Maison du Quantique Île-de-France, iXcampus confirms its mission: connecting academic, industrial, and entrepreneurial ecosystems to accelerate quantum innovation and its adoption by economic players.
