iXcampus earns B Corp Certification

The purpose-driven company iXcampus has been awarded the internationally recognized B Corp label. Together with B Lab France, iXcampus aims to support the growing adoption of the B Corp approach among technology companies.

Deeptech creator iXcampus, a purpose-driven company whose mission is to foster the emergence and growth of technology ventures addressing environmental and societal challenges, is proud to announce today that it has achieved B Corp Certification. Rethinking the role of business to bring to life a different kind of economy—one that benefits people and the living world rather than being solely driven by financial profit—is the goal of this certification, which recognizes companies with a positive social and environmental impact.

This recognition is awarded following a rigorous evaluation process to companies worldwide that put their efficiency and creativity at the service of the common good, and that commit to meeting high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.

The international B Corp certification evaluates various criteria, including corporate governance, workplace well-being and equality, impact on local communities, as well as the environmental and social footprint of the business model. It represents a long-term commitment to continuous improvement, as B Corps must undergo reassessment every three years to maintain their certification.

Today, more than 8,000 companies of all sizes and sectors across 94 countries—including over 370 in France—have joined this global movement.

iXcampus has set itself a mission: to significantly contribute to the emergence of innovative technology ventures addressing environmental and societal challenges. To achieve this, its method is to build bridges between academia and industry by pooling resources, skills, and experiences across the diverse stakeholders on its campuses: leading companies, startups, and universities.

By obtaining international B Corp certification, iXcampus demonstrates that it integrates sustainable practices into its operations and actively seeks to create a positive impact on society and the environment.

Driven by this shared ambition, iXcampus and B Lab France have forged a strategic partnership to further expand the B Corp movement among companies—particularly in the technology and industrial sectors—across the Île-de-France region.

Beyond supporting the certification of startups from our incubator, we also aim to raise awareness among as many French Tech companies as possible through our training programs in partnership with B Lab,” explains Julien Lalanne, Managing Director of iXcampus.

iXcampus aims to become a recognized amplifier of the B Corp movement among tech companies. To achieve this, the purpose-driven company is rolling out several initiatives:

• Implementation of the B Impact Assessment (BIA) tool within the iXcampus incubator

iXcampus offers to guide the companies in its incubator through the B Corp process by organizing bootcamp sessions around the BIA tool, with the support of B Lab France.

• An executive training program

The B Leader training course by B Lab will be added to iXcampus’s professional training catalog in 2024, allowing any company wishing to follow the training in person to do so at iXcampus—right in the heart of an ecosystem aligned with these challenges.
