Use of Collected Personal Data

Media

If you are a registered user and upload images to the website, we advise you to avoid uploading images that contain GPS EXIF data. Visitors to your website may download and extract location data from these images.

Contact form

When you fill out a form, we collect the following information: first name, last name, phone number, email address, and IP address.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you may choose to save your name, email address, and website in cookies. This is for your convenience so that you do not have to enter this information again when leaving another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and log in to this site, a temporary cookie will be created to determine if your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display preferences. Login cookies last for two days, and screen option cookies last for one year. If you select “Remember me,” your login will persist for two weeks. When you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

When you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after one day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor had visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

How long we retain your data

Your personal information is retained by iXcampus for 3 years for marketing purposes and 6 years for data related to order billing.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows us to automatically recognize and approve any follow-up comments instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users who register on our website (if applicable), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except for their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Your rights over your data

If you have an account or have left comments on the site, you can request to receive a file containing all the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request the deletion of your personal data. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

You may request to withdraw your consent, access your data, modify it, request its deletion, and request its transfer to a third party by completing the form available on the following page: Data Management.

iXcampus undertakes to respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe, which shall not exceed one month from the receipt of your request.

Contact information

All information we collect from you may be used to:

  • Respond to your individual needs
  • Improve our website
  • Enhance customer service and support
  • Contact you by email and phone

a. Cookies exempt from consent

b. Cookies requiring prior consent

This requirement concerns cookies issued by third parties and classified as “persistent” because they remain on your device until they are deleted or expire. As these cookies are issued by third parties, their use and placement are subject to their own privacy policies, which are linked below. This category includes advertising cookies (which iXcampus does not use) and social media sharing cookies (e.g., Twitter and LinkedIn). Social media sharing cookies are issued and managed by the respective social network.

With your consent, these cookies allow you to easily share content published on the iXcampus site through a “share button” for the corresponding social network. Four types of social media sharing cookies are present on the iXcampus site:
